We’re seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer who will define our approach to using ML to solve robotic planning and prediction problems. We are very much looking to drive the state-of-the-art in this space to allow our robot to adapt to new use cases very quickly, while performing in a trustworthy and predictable manner both in simulation and in the real world.

We're hiring virtually, in addition to our San Francisco Bay Area, California office onsite.

Builder Opportunity:

  • Define our approach to using ML to solve robotic planning and prediction problems
  • Drive a vision for a state-of-the-art approach to applying ML to planning problems in order to allow our robot to adapt to new use cases very quickly
  • Develop the algorithms and training approaches to allow our robot to perform in a trustworthy and predictable manner both in simulation and the real world

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Robotics, or related technical field, or significant relevant professional experience
  • Experience developing a range of different algorithms using machine learning techniques
  • Experience defining dataset requirements
  • Proven ability to solve software problems using geometry and linear algebra
  • Highly motivated teammate with excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Enjoy working in a fast-paced, collaborative and dynamic start-up environment as part of a small team
  • Willingness to occasionally travel

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Robotics, or similar technical field of study
  • Applied experience using Machine Learning to solve motion planning or related robotics problems
  • Experience developing, evaluating, and shipping ML models in production environments
  • Experience with Deep Learning, Reinforcement Learning, and Domain Transfer techniques
  • Experience defining synthetic data requirements
